Active rest day.
That running shorts tan. Whoa.

Running dayyyyyyy
Yesterday was a strength day, and I see a lot of changes and gains since I’ve been doing more strength exercises, but I looooove running and I miss it on the days I don’t get out there.

Brokenhearted badass
So R. called me (drunk, naturally) at 4AM to talk about being my son’s stepdad and whether I would ever consider relocating to where he lives. This morning I shot him a text and asked him to let me know if he was serious or just drunk, and of course I haven’t heard from him. So I’m feeling pretty down today. Really down, actually. So I decided to take a rest day and have a nap (cuz I couldn’t really sleep after that conversation).
I woke up a couple hours later still feeling really down and decided that working out would make me feel better. I was right. I did ZWOW 49 which is her “365 rep workout” and 120 of those reps are burpees. Whoa. So even tho my situation is the same, my attitude about it is 100x better. That’s why I love working out.

Getting up at 4:30 sucks. Missing my workout sucks more.
I’m on it.

Wall stand!
-
What a workout this morning!
ZWOW 45 and then a 1.4 mile run. I accomplished a full on, perfect wall stand this morning for the first time. And then about a dozen more. Tomorrow is an active rest day, so that means no push ups until Monday and no burpees until Tuesday!
Have a good weekend, lovelies!

100 flights of stairs (for the badonkadonk butt), 72 push ups (for the back fat), and 91 dips (for the bingo wings).
Who thinks this shit up?

Took a rest day yesterday
Fell asleep at 7. The last day of the month is very stressful for me at work.
Woke up and weighed myself (I usually only do that once a month) and found that I’m down to 134.5. I guess cutting out chips and switching up my workouts made a bit of a difference.
Haven’t set any May goals yet. Inspire me and I’ll post my May goals tonight.
What are your goals for May?

Week in review…
I got up before the sun on Thursday and jumped (literally) right into some plyo squats without warming up and tweaked my back. So I haven’t run since Wednesday. I’ve been on the elliptical, but no running or body weight exercises. Going to try some body weight stuff and stick with the elliptical today, then hopefully be back to running in a day or two.
My new bathing suit came in the mail Friday! I decided to try one of those “cheeky” bottoms, I’m wearing it today, but I’m a little nervous. It looks ok, but I definitely see where I could use some improvement.

3 miles, 63 pushups, 80 dips
Done at 4:57 AM. Tough having a social life and keeping up with your fitness.
What are you doing for your fitness today?

My niece told me my ass is getting bigger
I ran into the bathroom, checked out my ass in the mirror, and yelled “SQUATS!”
-
I have to get up at 4 to work out for the next 2 days…at least
- Tomorrow night my niece and her daughter, my new niece (who is technically my great niece, but I’m not ready to own that yet), are coming over for dinner. I haven’t seen or held the baby yet, so between cooking and playing with the baby I’ll be kinda busy.
- Thursday night my town’s minor league team has a home game, and we try to hit Thursday night games because they are so cheap.
- Idk if I’m going out Friday night or not. But if I am I’ll have to get up early Friday too.
It’s exhausting being so dedicated ;)

Unsolicited fitblr advice: Do it now!!!
I was never overweight until my late 30s when I quit smoking, and then it was only 25 or 30 pounds. But I was never FIT. I worked out on and off my whole adult life, but I ate whatever I wanted, I smoked, I spent a lot of my 20s staying out late and not getting enough sleep (I wouldn’t change that, though. Everyone should spend their 20s doing that). Anyway, I was never really committed to this lifestyle until a couple of years ago. And I’m a little pissed at myself. It’s not just that I look good, it’s that I have eliminated basically all of the worry and insecurity I had about my body for the first four decades of my life. I wear what I want (Is this age appropriate? Do I care?). I feel comfortable in my own skin. And when I do see some cellulite or a fold where I don’t want it I think, “Fuck it. I ran 13 miles last weekend. My body rules! I’m not gonna worry about that.”So do it now! Don’t wait! Have as many years of confidence and awesomeness as you can.

Challenges
I have 3 fitness challenges I started April 1:
- 100 push up challenge
- 150 dip challenge
- Run every day (at least one mile a day every day in April)
Feeling good six days in. And I am chip free for April!

Up at the crack of dawn to work out because minor league baseball starts tonight!
My town is home to a minor league baseball team. My friends and I love taking our kids to the games. The kids run all over trying to catch foul balls, we sit behind home plate looking at ballplayers’ asses.
Well worth getting up early for.
